Today, I will provide some information about the inventor of the first lamp, namely Thomas Alfa Edison.
Thomas Alfa Edison
Thomas Alva Edison (11 February 1847 - 18 October 1931) was an American inventor and entrepreneur who is described as America's greatest inventor. He developed many devices in areas such as power generation, mass communication, sound recording, and moving images. These inventions, including the phonograph, film camera, and the beginnings of the electric light bulb, had a far-reaching impact on the world of modern industry. He was one of the first inventors to apply the principles of organized science and teamwork to the discovery process, working with many researchers and employees. . He founded the first industrial research laboratory.
Thomas Edison began his career selling candy, newspapers, and vegetables on trains running from Port Huron to Detroit. He made $ 50 a week in profit at the age of 13, which was mostly used to buy equipment for electrical and chemical experiments. He became a telegraph operator after he saved three-year-old Jimmie MacKenzie from being hit by a runaway train. Jimmie's father, station agent JU MacKenzie from Mount Clemens, Michigan, was grateful that he trained Edison as a telegraph operator. Edison's first telegraphic job from Port Huron was at Stratford Junction, Ontario, on the Grand Trunk Railway.

Henry Ford, the car king, then lived a few hundred feet from Edison in his winter retreat in Fort Myers. Ford had worked as an engineer for the Edison Illuminating Company of Detroit and met Edison at an Edison-affiliated illumination company convention in Brooklyn, NY in 1896. Edison was impressed with Ford's internal combustion engine car and encouraged its development. They were friends until Edison died. Edison and Ford undertook annual motorbike camping trips from 1914 to 1924. Harvey Firestone and naturalist John Burroughs also participated.
Edison died of diabetes complications on October 18, 1931, at his home, "Glenmont" in Llewellyn Park in West Orange, New Jersey, which he purchased in 1886 as a wedding gift for Mina. Pastor Stephen J. Herben presided over the funeral; Edison was buried behind the house.
Edison's last breath was reportedly contained in a test tube at The Henry Ford museum near Detroit. Ford reportedly convinced Charles Edison to seal the test tube in the inventor's chamber shortly after his death, as a memento. An Edison plaster and handprint death mask was also made. Mina died in 1947.
